To help you get to know GFI GOLD better, here are the 7 questions our customers ask us most often:

Your 7 most frequently asked questions
  1. What tells me that GFI GOLD is a trusted partner?

GFI GOLD has existed since 2005 and is the privileged partner of private and professional customers in Belgium and abroad for the purchase and sale of investment gold and metals. Thanks to this experience, we attach great importance to the satisfaction of our customers and to the quality of our services. A satisfied customer is a returning customer.

  1. Is the purchase and sale of gold taxed in Belgium?

In Belgium, capital gains realized on the sale of gold and metals by Belgian tax residents are not taxable under current tax legislation. If you are a non-resident, we refer you to the fiscal legislation of your country of residence. GFI GOLD has no obligation to withhold the amounts paid and each resident or non-resident taxpayer must respect the tax provisions of his country of residence. The purchase of investment gold is also not subject to VAT.

  1. How can I be sure that the gold you are selling is genuine?

With 30 years of experience and qualified staff, we offer a reliable appraisal service that guarantees the conformity of the products you buy. We only sell "international" gold (LBMA).

  1. Do I have to clean my coins before selling them?

Never clean your gold or metal coins yourself before coming to sell them because you risk damaging its very fine and fragile details. Once cleaned, they lose their value. If necessary, we will clean them ourselves with the utmost care.

  1. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash up to a maximum of €3,000. Most of our customers pay by bank transfer by creating an account on www.GFI.GOLD. It is also possible to pay by debit card (Bancontact) within the limit of payment authorized by your bank. We invite you to check your limit before coming to the office by contacting your bank branch beforehand. Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), as well as “Carte Blue”blue cards, are not accepted.

  1. How many days does it take to get the bank transfer in case of a sale?

As soon as your gold and/or metals have been evaluated by one of our experts in our offices and the file is complete in terms of compliance, our accounting department will proceed with the payment on the same value date on your bank account. We invite you to always bring your bank card (IBAN number) and your ID card to complete the transaction.

  1. Do I have to add a commission to the rate on your website?

For foreign exchange as well as for gold and metals, subject to the age of the currencies and the quality and type of coins and ingots presented, all our prices are net of all fees.

At GFI GOLD, we are totally transparent on the prices displayed. There are no other fees, nor additional commissions.
